Bondage accessories (part 1)

We know from our 15 years of experience in the adult toy industry that sex toy lovers are often drawn to bondage practices with their partner. Bondage in a sexual setting is any toy or equipment which enables a person to restrain and/or punish their partner.

The use of bondage falls within BDSM which stands for Bondage, Discipline, Sadism and Masochism. Bondage is a collective tool whereby dominant and sadistic behaviours can be carried out upon the submissive partner. The enjoyment of punishment through bondage is said to be masochistic whereby through punishment and humiliation sexual satisfaction is achieved.

We have seen that Puppy Fetish gear such as muzzles and leads, collars and cages can be used as bondage accessories but what else is there. Here we take a little look.

If you are new to bondage play in your sex life then you will not want to rush into anything too heavy initially, especially if your partner is not totally on board. A great starting place is with a pair of handcuffs. There are many available some gentle, some a little more fierce.

Many sex toy shops sell handcuffs which are all metal or plastic but covered in soft fluffy material. They are liable to not be that strong and as much an aesthetic prop as they are useful to restrict your partner.

They are however a great place to begin on your adult toy journey of bondage. For the more seasoned sex toy lover however, you may want to go for handcuffs which are free of all the comfort as after all this is meant to be punishment right? You certainly don't see any soft fluffy materials on the Police handcuffs.

Gently moving on, we look at blindfolds. Blindfolds are a great way of masking your partner’s eyes so they cannot see what you are up to and they can no longer predict your next sexual move. It may be that with their use your partner is at your mercy and for many this can be a real turn. Indeed, if you have restrained your partner with handcuffs (e.g. to the bed) and applied a blindfold, then it is a perfect time to introduce another sex toy such as a platinum silicone dong or platinum silicone dildo.

The beauty of these sex toys aside from their intricate design, is that they are totally body safe (medical grade platinum silicone). Furthermore, they are hypoallergenic so you do not have to worry that your partner may be allergic to them.

By introducing sex toys such as platinum silicone dildos, they can facilitate your foreplay before you engage in full penetrative sex. Through teasing of erotic areas of the body with your adult toy, such as the perineum, nipples, breasts and clitoris your partner is liable to become incredibly primed for orgasm. Furthermore as the one that is teasing your partner’s body, you too will become very turned on especially if you have them blindfolded and restrained.

If you are using a sex toy such as a platinum silicone dildo discuss with your partner beforehand what size and shape they would prefer. John Thomas Toys come in over 50 designs for all your anal and vaginal requirements. In addition, they are made in 4 sizes, small, medium, large and extra large. Using plenty of lubricant with sex toys enhances your enjoyment and is imperative if they are used anally as it cannot produce any natural lubricant itself (the vagina can).

In conjunction with blindfolds and handcuffs, an alternative or indeed an addition could be restraints. These can be worn around the wrists or ankles or other parts of the arms or legs.

A restrain provides a means for your partner to further secure you and control you in your dominance and submissive role playing games.

If you are drawn to using restraints then again there are many available to serve the purpose. Leather ones are excellent because leather is strong and not too harsh when it is worn plus it looks and smells great and can really help to get you both in the mood.

In order to get the most out of your restraints you are going to need a means to employ them. Restraints mean you can effectively limit your partner but you need something to bind them to.

Many people use their beds to anchor them to, but another accessory you will need is a rope or chain to connect to the restraints which is in turn attached to the bed for example.
