Pegging

Pegging, if it’s good enough for Deadpool, then why not try it yourself

You can't deny it; pegging has been getting much attention lately and a resurgence in popularity. Even Wade Wilson (Deadpool) is partial to a bit of face down, ass up fun with his partner. Who can forget that iconic scene in the Deadpool film?

For those unaware, "Pegging" is a term used to describe anal penetration by someone wearing a strap-on dildo. Often it involves a penis owner being on the receiving end of a strap-on worn by someone else, but in fact, it can involve any gender. After all, we all have a 'tradesman's-entrance'.

In this article, I will give you some pointers and tips on how to increase your enjoyment of this popular activity and, just as importantly, doing it safely.

Now, the thought of being penetrated anally may not appeal to most people at first glance but think about it for one moment. The anus is packed full of nerves, and anal play can be incredibly pleasurable, taking your sex life to a new level of kink and fun.

Anal sex isn't without its challenges, but when done right, it can be amazing. Pegging can take your intimate play to a whole new level of enjoyment.

So why would you want to be pegged?

Pegging is often associated with power-play dynamics. Usually, it is the penis owner behind doing the work and, of course, the penetration. But with pegging, that dynamic is often reversed with the strap-on owner taking on the more dominant role.

This is one of the reasons why Dominatrixes often enjoy pegging play, as they can use it to put someone in their place. But it isn't all about power play or BDSM; pegging can be gentle, loving and highly intimate.

Psychologically there is a lot to unpack there but rest assured, the desire to be pegged is totally normal.

So, what do you need?

Firstly, you need a partner who will enjoy pegging, as either the giver or receiver of the action, of course.

Next, you are going to need three main things. A strap-on harness, a dildo that is compatible with it (more on that in a moment) and lube, lots of lube.

Lube is your biggest friend when it comes to anal play as your anus doesn't self-lubricate, and dry bumming is just a huge no, no.

Harness types

Many different strap-on harness types are available, and a quick google will show you some excellent options. There are two main methods of holding a dildo in place on a harness, and the type you opt for will affect the dildos that can be used with it.

One popular method of attaching a dildo to a harness is with silicone 'o'-rings. This requires a dildo with a flared base to work, which is its main disadvantage over the other method. A silicone ring is placed over the dildo, and this ring is attached to the harness providing a secure way of holding a dildo in place as you thrust with it.

My preferred option, though, is to use a vac-u-lock compatible strap-on harness. The Vac-u-lock system allows quick and easy dildo swaps, so you could try lots of different shapes in one session without long pauses that could ruin the mood.

Dildo types

As with harnesses, there are many different dildo options available online. One thing you need to be aware of is material types when selecting a dildo.

Steer clear of cheap dildos made from jelly, PVC, silagel, or anything porous. You don't want bacteria to start growing inside the surface of your dildo, as that will be impossible to clean.

I always recommend silicone dildos, as platinum cure silicone such as the blend used by John Thomas Toys is non-porous, both latex and phthalate-free and also hypoallergenic. In other words, the perfect dildo material and perfect for bum play.

Cleaning is easy as you can just wash these dildos in warm soapy water or use an anti-bacterial sex toy cleaner on them. You can even clean them in the dishwasher or boil them to sterilise them so you can use them between partners.

Silicone is the god of dildo materials, and it's the only option I recommend or use myself, for that matter.

Dildo Recommendations

This is something that is going to be different for everyone. But I will suggest a couple of beginners, intermediate and challenge dildos from the excellent John Thomas Toys range of silicone dildos.

For beginners, you will want something with not too much girth and a relatively smooth shaft. For that reason, check out UMBUNGO'S FINGER, or GOOD BOY, which is a dog’s tail. It sounds weird, but it will be great for getting used to being pegged and building your confidence. Start with something small unless you are already an anal Olympian, in which case John Thomas Toys have you covered there too.

Look at the BULLY BOY (above) with its tapering shaft for intermediate play, which will gradually expand you as it penetrates.

If you want to stretch and get used to pegging, then the EDGEWARE TRAINER (below) is a good option; its tapered shaft will keep you on your toes and help you to enjoy larger toys.

Lube up and stay lubed

Lube is key to good anal play; you need lots of it, and you will need to keep it topped up during longer play sessions.

John Thomas Toys have a great range of lubes but stay away from the numbing ones if you are training, as you need to listen to your body.

I can highly recommend the J-Lube, which comes as a powder that you mix yourself, and it's a highly cost-effective way to have lots of lube available for play. So, it's good for your wallet/purse as well as your ass.

Other good options are the Tom of Finland® Hybrid lube and the Anal Lube (natural).

Joanne's top pegging tips

1. Lube is king; as already stated, use lots of it and keep it flowing. Put it on the dildo and also work some inside your anus before you start to play.

2. Relax and choose a dildo you can easily insert for your first session. Try it yourself before handing it to someone to fit to their strap-on harness.

3. Only use body-safe materials like silicone.

4. Agree on a safe word to use if things get too intense.

5. Get comfortable, doggy is an excellent position and make sure the room isn't too cold.

6. Think about warming the dildo before use, as it will make insertion a much easier task. Cold dildos make you clench. So, soak the dildo in warm water for ten minutes before use.

7. Think about using an enema kit before anal play if you are squeamish because it prevents a possible mess.

8. Communicate during your session; if you are the giver, listen to the receiver and take things slowly.

9. Don't be the person whose eyes are bigger than their ass. Start small and work your way up to the more substantial toys.

10. Enjoy. Anal can be amazing when done right, just remember the lube and start slow and small before getting more adventurous.

I hope you have found this helpful information. Pegging can be a fantastic experience, no matter which side of the dildo they are on. It is very intimate and can be used in lots of different role-play scenarios to spice up your bedroom fun and games.
